Love Day: A Closer Look at Each Sticker

Love Day: A Closer Look at Each Sticker

I was organizing my brush pens the other day when I realized how long it had been since I’d sat down to just experience the feel of Fudenosuke pen on watercolor paper. It was the urge to make marks again.

Every piece in this set was hand drawn using one red brush marker, then scanned and cleaned just enough to keep the texture intact. I wanted the wobble and the gritty textures.

Lately, I’ve been craving a return to grit, a sort of creativity that shows its seams. Something human derived from time, pressure, and repetition rather than an algorithm, perhaps.

Inspired by Valentine’s Day

While Valentine’s Day was the initial spark, I didn’t want this to feel overly sweet, heavy romantic aligned or tropey. (The axolotl was a bit of a wildcard but it fits well in the set don't you think?)

The polaroid style sticker is a classic breakfast in bed. Grid tape is an essential, can be used so many ways, the rose key is probably my favorite, I love the feeling it emits.

Of course these elements not designed to be on a gallery wall. They’re meant to be used alongside other elements (like in my spreads)

This collection also doesn't scream “perfect stickers.” I wanted to stay connected to the hand derived creative source, especially in a world that rewards glittery AI generated polish over presence.

How I’ll be using them

So excited to start layering these into my next spreads... tucked into corners, overlapping other elements, paired with handwriting and bits o' scraps.

If you’re someone who journals for the feeling of it, these were made with you in mind.

OH P.S. - These were all drawn using my Fudenosuke brush pens, my trusty partners that I reach for when I want color that I can maneuver well, the hard tip gives me a lot of control on my marks which I really enjoy.
